Step by step, the music world is getting into the holiday spirit #NMF

Step by step, the music world is getting into the holiday spirit. Some artist are about to hibernate, others choose to indulge themselves in a glühwein fest.

Luckily for us, not all will be a couch potato these days. Sir Van Morrison releases his fortieth album today, with brand new songs as well as inspirational covers of blues and soul classics. The strange puppet on his lap is still a mystery to us, but hopefully we can decipher its meaning while listening to Van’s songs in Tunify.

Initials LP stand for Laura Pergolizzi. This curly Italian-American singer-songwriter has written songs for Cher, Rihanna, The Backstreet Boys and Christina Aguilera, but shot to fame with “Lost On You”. On the verge of the new year she and her guitar are trying to reconquer the charts.

XXXTENTACION is about to celebrate his first Christmas in hip-hop heaven. This promising rapper was murdered six months ago during a robbery at a motorcycle dealership. His widow is due to give birth to their child any minute now, but his posthumous album will see the daylight today.

French rapper Jul and German wordsmith Sido are demigods in their own country. They will be keeping the youngsters ‘woke’ and warm during the holiday season with forty and fifteen new songs respectively.

In order to completely succumb to the December feeling, David Hallyday dedicates his new album to his late dad. Attentive readers know his mother did a similar thing last week. No doubt this fun fact will be a big hit at the upcoming office Christmas party.

The next few weeks we will be looking back at your most played songs and artists of 2018 as well as giving you a preview of things to come in the new year.

Bring it on!
