The Tenth International Society for Music Information Retrieval Conference will take place in October 26-30 2009, in Kobe, Japan. Our colleague Sten will give a presentation of his research topics there on Tuesday 27.
Also a shakuhachi concert is planned in the conference room that day. The shakuhachi is a Japanese traditional instrument. The performers are Zenpo Simura, Hidefumi Izukawa & Josh Smith of the Osaka University of Arts. In 2008, Hidefumi Izukawa formed a unit called "Kurofune" with Josh Smith.
