Eva Trappeniers, born in 1988, is a singer-songwriter who discovered the Jazz when she was 14. After a long time of classical piano education she decided to do something more exciting and closer to her world and started taking jazz piano lessons and harmony courses at the Jazz Academy of Raphaël van Goubergen. He learned and inspired her to write her own songs. She hasn’t stopped writing since then. In June 2005 she formed her first band with musical friends from school. As ‘Pata Negra’ they ended second in the final of ‘Kunstbende 2006’. In September 2006 she started studies as Interior Designer and got her bachelor’s degree 3 year later. She lived in the U.K. for a while and began to develop a bigger interest in music and writing new songs. At the Leeds Academy of Art & Design she met inspiring friends who helped her to develop her talents and express her inner feelings through music. Ever since she travels back to England often. Creation of music and art has always been around the family. Her mom is an artist and runs an academy of art for children. Her father and brother are both musicians and dj’s. Her songs have been influenced by a large spectrum of music genres and artists such as The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and Norah Jones. She wants to share fragments of her life and hopes to move you with her music. In the summer of 2009 she met Bart Van Caenegem, an amazing and inspiring pianist, and soon after her band was formed.
