Unpredictable weather, dark clouds, rainfall and new music #NMF

Fall means unpredictable weather, storms, dark clouds and rainfall. Some of the artists releasing new music today seem equally unpredictable and stormy.

Angel Olsen

Michael Holbrook Penniman, better known as Mika, stormed the charts back in 2007 with big hits like “Grace Kelly”, “Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)” and  “Relax, Take It Easy”. His debut album sold over 8 million copies worldwide. After a very quiet period with only a hit in France every now and then, he releases a very personal album today. Was it the proverbial calm before the storm?

The talented singer-songwriter Angel Olsen is no stranger to lovers of gloomy indie-folk. Angel’s voice can be unpredictable and emotional, unlike her given name. So be aware whilst discovering her dark discography.

For a while, Angel supported fellow Americans Wilco on tour. They release their eleventh album this Friday in their trademark style. Although the title is “Ode To Joy”, expect alternative folk and country-rock. The perfect soundtrack to lead you into Fall.

Dermot Kennedy brings you his debut today. The Irish lad is no stranger to bad weather and it reflects in his songwriting. Tunify users may already know this boy of songs like  “Power On Me” and “Lost”.

Autumn: leaves are falling off the trees, rainy days ahead … it’s all an inspiration to artists such like Lost Frequencies, Laïs, Charlie Puth, Cole Swindell, Halsey, Diplo, Vanessa Paradis, Kate Ryan, Black Eyed Peas and The Lighthouse.

So time to put on your sweater indoors and turn up the heat on your Tunify player!
