“The music should make you want to jump”

Christophe Tassenon is Managing Director of Jumpsquare Group Belgium. He tells us how Jumpsquare makes the jumping experience at its trampoline centres as unforgettable as possible.

More than an indoor trampoline centre

Your heart is pumping in your chest. Adrenaline rushes through your body. You feel free. Being on a trampoline… it does something to a person. But that thrill doesn’t just come from jumping. The entire framework of a Jumpsquare trampoline centre is well thought out. “We are always looking for ways to improve the experience even more,” says Managing Director Christophe. “Whether it’s the choice of coffee or the décor: we always go for the maximum experience.” So the company didn’t take any chances when choosing a music partner.

Wanted: a unified brand experience

Jumpsquare was looking for a way to play music at its various Belgian sites. The selection criteria were clear: the songs always have to be the latest hits and the company wanted to be able to create its own playlists. Moreover, it had to be possible to use the same music in all the parks to keep the brand experience uniform. User-friendliness was also high on the wish list. The Jumpsquare branches tried several solutions and Tunify emerged as the winner.

Music that makes you want to jump

“The advantage of Tunify is that it is a user-friendly platform, but still offers many features,” he tells us. “For example, you can search by BPM, or beats per minute, in Tunify. That helps us find a beat that’s not too heavy but also not too slow.” And that’s important in a trampoline centre: “The music should make you want to jump. Therefore, we always look for up-tempo songs with the right energy and a solid beat. But it has to be the right beat. And that’s where Tunify makes a difference.”

Child-friendly song lyrics

“After searching by BPM, we exclude the styles that don’t fit in an environment with children, such as rap,” Christophe continues. “Not that we don’t like that music, but rather because there may be words in the lyrics that aren’t suitable for children’s ears. And it can be disturbing for parents when their children are exposed to it. So there, too, Tunify gives us the convenience of maintaining control over our brand experience.”

The vibe is automatically adjusted

It was also essential for Jumpsquare to be able to choose appropriate music for each experience. “For example, we regularly organise Mini Jumps,” Christophe explains. “Those are jumping sessions for the little ones, with children’s songs blaring through the speakers.” But after that activity is finished, the standard music should start playing again. “And we had to remember that all the time. The same goes for Disco Jump nights. At the stroke of 4 p.m., the disco lights go on and the hottest music reverberates through the speakers. Adjusting all that manually is a lot of work. Now, thanks to Tunify’s music schedules, the vibe is automatically adjusted at the right time.
