Music: New Music Friday

From winter snow to meteorological spring #NMF

Being born on Leap Day has the disadvantage of only celebrating your birthday every four years. But Leap Day has the advantage that you get one day extra to play new music in your Tunify Player.

Meteorologically speaking spring starts this weekend. So let the springtime freshness in! We can offer you tons of excellent new music to make the seasonal transition most comfortably.

Music fun facts can put you through college. Maybe you can impress your teachers with the fact that a Caribou is not only a North-American reindeer but also a multitalented Canadian musician? He boldly mixes folktronica, jazz and indie-rock and gets away with it. More than that, he wants to make you dance with his fifth album full of adventurous sound landscapes. We don’t want to hear you say “Don’t Know Much About Biology” anymore!

Seventysomething guitarist James Taylor is releasing his twentieth studio album this weekend. The five-time Grammy winner and one-time divorcé of Carly Simon takes on the Great American Song  Book. Another Great American Guitarist goes by the name Robert Cray. At the age of 66, he offers us album number 19, once again full of accessible blues which leaves us feeling all warm and fuzzy.

Rex Rebel is a new band formed with the charismatic Sam Bettens as their frontman. The artist formerly known as Sarah Bettens (from K’s Choice fame) brings you more electronica and fewer guitars. Although Sam’s voice is still in transition, he still sounds strong and radiates poppy energy. Let’s celebrate Sam’s newfound positive energy with Rex Rebel’s debut album.

More freshness and positivity can be found in your Tunify Player thanks to new work by Lianne La Havas, Lady Gaga, Kenny Chesney, Mabel, Disclosure, Wishbone Ash, Brooke Bentham, Jonathan Wilson, Real Estate, Louis Chedid, Daniël Lohues and Five Finger Death Punch.

Radiating artists and seasons in transition, enjoy and celebrate the rays of sunlight in your Tunify Player!

From Friday, March, 6th on you can also enjoy new work from Dutch Chef’s Special, which has been cooking up some nice sounds plus the multi-talented Tim Vanhamel, a.k.a. Millionaire. And that’s not all folks! How about new songs from José James, James Hunter Six, Lauv, The Pilgrims, Jean-Louis Murat, Body Count, Stephen Malkmus and the long-awaited return of Cornershop, Deacon Blue and CocoRosie!

Friday the 13th, we’ll be back with more “horrifically” good new music!
