Music: New Music Friday

Luckily 2020 is a leap year because your ears will be needing that extra day to absorb and process all new music!

First and foremost, we wish you a healthy, prosperous and exciting 2020!
The first year of what could become a new ‘Roaring Twenties’ – or like the French called it last time ‘Les Années Folles’-, will be spectacular!

NMF-Week1

One hundred years ago Jazz, radio, film, Broadway and Dance music were on the rise, so we hopefully are looking at a new decade filled with musical and cultural innovation. Or let us at least rediscover dancing styles like the foxtrot or the charleston and give it a new twist!

Do you want to kick off that decade with some big names? How about Selena Gomez for starters? After struggling with some health issues Selena releases a brand new album on January, 10th. The album title “Rare” may refer to something peculiar, exceptional or just to the way she likes her steak. Let’s assume she means the first definition and intends to make 2020 extraordinary. There is no cure like the future. Also wasting no time are fellow Americans Kesha, Poppy and Echosmith. British export from the highest quality level comes in the form of Georgia and The Big Moon.

One week later new work from Anti-Flag, Bombay Bicycle Club, Louise and Halsey amongst others will see the daylight.

By the end of January fans of Pet Shop Boys, Eefje De Visser, Louis Tomlinson, Isobel Campbell, Breaking Benjamin, Ozzy Osbourne and Blossoms will be able to enjoy a collection of new songs by their favourite artists. But we’ll elaborate on this releases later this month.

February brings you long-awaited new work from the likes of Green Day, The 1975, Agnes Obel, Caribou, Grimes, Gabrielle Aplin, La Roux, Delain, Sepultura and Oh Wonder.

No rest for the wicked music lovers come spring with the resurrection of Circa Waves, Weezer, The Killers, Deacon Blue, CocoRosie and Lauv.

Later in the year Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Alanis Morissette, Sam Smith, Major Lazer and Ellie Goulding will brighten up your Tunify player.

Abovementioned artists are just some of the big and sparkling names to keep you warm and hopeful this winter. We predict a wonderful, warm and sunny year in music. Our ears are ready for it and our eyesight has a 20/20 vision!
