The month of May not only promises us liberation, joy, and sunshine but also great new music. Take a sneak peek at the releases this coming month.

But first, we will have to deal on the last day of April with “Typhoons”. No worries, these are pretty harmless, musical ones. The highly anticipated third album of Brighton’s pride Royal Blood will see the daylight this Friday. Come what May and we will gladly leave the bad weather jokes behind and warm up with new material from Damso, The Coral, Dropkick Murphy’s, Birdy, Gojira, Afrojack & David Guetta, Will Young, Son Mieux, Jessie Ware, Teenage Fanclub, Amy Shark, Roisin Murphy, Gary Moore, Anitta, Little Mix & Saweetie, and Julia Michaels amongst others.

Thirteen and a half years after their last album with vocalist Geike Arnaert, Hooverphonic returns to their most successful formula with “Hidden Stories”. Ten new tales with Eurovision Song Contest entry “The Wrong Place” the first to be released. Hopefully, the song title does not predict the end result on May, 18th. Another song on the record  is called “Belgium in The Rain”, so maybe Alex Callier is a fortune-teller?

Fortunate are the four thousand music fans who will be joining the Brit Awards event one week earlier, on May the 11th. They’ll be enjoying indoor live performances from Dua Lipa, Arlo Parks, Griff, Olivia Rodrigo, Headie One, P!nk, and Rag ‘n’Bone Man! This last fellow will be releasing a new album a few days earlier. Coïncidence? We don’t think so.

Other noteworthy releases come from the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Weezer, Alfie Templeman, Van Morrison, Kayak, Bebe Rexha, STUFF., Thomas Rhett, Angel Olsen, Keen ‘V and Tony Joe White.

Friday, May the 14th, The Black Keys, Damien Jurado, David Gray, Delta Goodrem, Morcheeba, Paul Weller, Myles Kennedy, Sons Of Kemet, and St. Vincent will present their newest and deepest musical thoughts to the world.

One week later, yes, you guessed it, on Friday the 21st, Gary Numan, Twenty One Pilots, John Hiatt & The Jerry Douglas Band, Lambchop, Allison Russell, Monster Magnet, and Robert Finley will make their return to the music scene with long-awaited new albums and Olivia Rodrigo will make her debut.

So mark those big dates in red on the calendar on your wall. It is always nice to have something to look forward to and have your Tunify Player as a soulmate on your musical journey to a bright and sunny summer.
