Musical rumours and certainties #NMF

Rumours, fake news and certainties, they are all over the news nowadays. One thing we know for certain: there is, once again, a solid New Music Friday.

Tunify-Billie Eilish

Last week rumours swirled about Kanye West. He has done and said some crazy stuff, but a completely new album might be one of those things. Certainty is the surprisingly good out-of-the-blue folk album by Taylor Swift. Very confessional and intimate lyrics, along with catchy melodies and guitar work wooed friend and foe. The Disco Queen from Down Under named Kylie made us dance in our living room and this week Ava Max and Billie Eilish might have something up her sleeve. Very hush hush, indeed.

Very confident about putting new music out there is Canadian songsmith, Alanis Morissette. Twenty-five years ago, she led the ‘Angry Young Women’ movement in music. The legendary album “Jagged Little Pill” proved therapeutic for her and in the process she won 5 Grammy Awards and sold 33 million copies. Today she releases her ninth studio album, “Such Pretty Forks in the Road”. The title suggests softer and less angry subjects, but this might be fake news. Alanis is now dealing with more political issues and wrongdoing men. Nevertheless, enjoy her new insights and well-crafted lyrics.

Also big in the nineties was Brandy. The Psychedelic Furs peaked mid-eighties. Although musically very different artists, they apparently still have issues to sing about in the new millennium. Check their latest albums out now!

Ill-timed or commercially brilliant timing? The Irish band The Coronas release their new album today. You can be the judge of their timing, and songs, in your Tunify Player.

Also eagerly awaiting your approval are new efforts made by Fontaines D.C., Lost Frequencies, Everything Everything, Jordin Sparks, Angel Olsen, Melanie C, Black Honey, Disclosure, Margo Price, Phoebe Ryan, Eskimo Callboy, Biig Piig, Arizona Zervas, Paul Kalkbrenner, Gorillaz, Katie Melua, Gregory Porter, Logic, Evie Irie and Bob Moses & ZHU.

A probability bordering on certainty is the fact that you will enjoy this weekend full of sun, good music and spicy rumours thanks to Tunify!

From the first Friday of August on you can brighten up your days with definitely good new music from Luke Bryan, Deep Purple, Bronson, Washed Out, Victoria Monét and Glass Animals amongst others. And that’s NOT second-hand news!
