Summer nights get even more sultry #NMF

Full sun will alternate with thunderstorms in the coming days. But summer evenings will remain sultry thanks to new masterpieces of some female artists. #NMF

The weather may forecast fortune or disaster, sunshine or rain, thunder, and lightning. Thanks to some musical sisters, a shy man, and one typical charmer releasing music this Friday, it will never get frightening!

The striking sisters HAIM sometimes look sinister, like the three witches out of Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, due to their long slick hair. Their sound varies from likable to quite aggressive, but together with youngest sister Alana, Este and Danielle are genetically geniuses on the guitar. Since all good things come in three, they baptized their third album “Women in Music, Part III”. In charge of the album cover, look and video work is well-acclaimed Hollywood director Paul Thomas Anderson. Coincidentally the only director to have ever won the ‘Grand Prix’ at the three most important film festivals (Cannes, Venice, and Berlin).

“Grand Prix” is also the self-aware sounding title of Benjamin Biolay’s latest album, released today. Benjamin is very much  liked by the French paparazzi since his turbulent marriage to Chiara Mastroianni (daughter of Catherine Deneuve en Marcello) and stormy affair with Vanessa Paradis. Musically he is a critics’ favorite due to his fascinating songs and profound lyrics. A musical mistral, qoui.

American folk singer Ray LaMontagne is quite the opposite of Beau Benjamin. His album “Monovision” sees the daylight this Friday. His music reminds us of Van Morrison and Nick Drake, but his vocal style is a bit marble-mouthed. But hey that’s okay, it is all about the atmosphere today.

The sultry and ever-so-smooth operating Jessie Ware is back and we welcome her with open arms and a nice cocktail. Song titles from her “What’s Your Pleasure?” album, such as “Oh La La”, “Save A Kiss”, “Adore You” and “Mirage (Don’t Stop)” are true indicators of the level of sensuality you can expect. Temperature is surely rising.

Other artists are more shyly drip dropping new songs into your Tunify player, like Beyoncé, DJ Snake, Bilal Wahib, Dream Wife, Grand Corps Malade & Camille Lellouche, Right Said Fred, Roger Taylor, Arca, The Mavericks, Satin Jackets, Frantzis, Blackwave., Woodie Smalls, Smith & Burrows, Jon Anderson, Mauro Pawlowski, Boney James, Nick Klyne, and Caro Emerald.

Sunshine or rain, thunder or lightning, heat waves or stormy weather, clouds or rainbows, French charmers or three witches….. always remember to wear sunscreen.

And if it’s raining more than ever? You can stay under our Tunify umbrella.
