Christmas in major thanks to Mariah & Co #NMF

Christmas may look different this year, but fortunately we can count on some fixed values from the music world. Do you read along? #NMF

Tunify-Mariah Carey

For all those lovers and haters of “All I Want For Christmas Is You”,  the these days ever so present Mariah Carey meets them halfway. Together with BFF’s Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande, she releases a reedition of “Oh Santa!”. Taking into account the vocal variety and octaves flying around between these three pitch-perfect princesses, there might be a chance that this Christmas Carol will replace the aforementioned “All I Want For Christmas Is You” as the most played song this time of year. Fingers crossed.

Last week in the spotlight with his new album, this week with a cozy Christmas ballad together with girlfriend Camila Cabello. Shawn Mendes is one busy bee. A bee to cuddle up to.

Gwen Stefani is full of good intentions on being busy in 2021. Therefore she would like to reintroduce herself literally with the comeback single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” in a style leaning toward her No Doubt past. Anyhow, welcome back, Gwen, although Tunify would never have forgotten you!

Also dropping new work straight into your beloved Tunify Player this Friday are Taylor Swift, Jane Birkin, M. Ward, Smith & Burrows, The Avalanches, M Pokora, Sylvia Kreusch, STUFF., Jack Johnson, Blossoms, Sting & Zucchero, Guided By Voices, (Thee) Oh Sees and Pablo Alboran.

Friday, December 18th, a new album from the legendary Paul McCartney as well as the Japanese girls from BABYMETAL will enlighten your day. Sir Paul might be enjoying a whiskey in front of an open fire to celebrate the release. A well-deserved drink since the good man played all the instruments on this album himself. One doesn’t go more solo than this.

Time for your 2020 favourites and a look ahead to 2021

Also, don’t forget to check out the ‘Most Played 2020’ list in your Tunify Orange, filed under ‘Hit parades’. No need to scream out SPOILER ALERT, when we mention that Dua Lipa and The Weeknd ruled the music world this year….amongst others. Curious to find out who those ‘others’ were?

From 2021 on you’ll find a quarterly update there on your most beloved songs. One can keep its finger on the pulse with Tunify!

Since we are all looking eagerly forward to 2021, we will be taking a look here at which artists will brighten the upcoming musical year. Rihanna? Adele? Drake? Foo Fighters? Read all about it at the beginning of January.

Have a great festive season, solo or with BFF’s, digital or real, but always safe. One thing is for sure, 2021 WILL be a ‘Grand Cru’ year, musically and otherwise, since 2020 left us with space and time to reflect, to look ahead, to think out of the box,  and foremost to let creative ideas mature.
